Volcano

The lava reaches temperatures of 1200 degrees Celsius. I can’t even conceive of what a temperature that hot means. 40 degrees C is a really hot day. Some AI told me that you can feel the radiant heat from a lava flow through the windows of a helicopter that's 200-400 meters above the flow.

Heat radiates at the speed of light which is why you feel those flamethrower displays at NBA basketball games immediately even though you are sitting in the nose bleed seats.

I asked the AI if you could sail a boat on lava. I was informed that lava is still rock and thus very dense. Unless the boat is extremely heavy it might not even break the surface tension of the lava. However, “even if your boat is crappily design, it'll still float.” The AI actually used the word “crappily”.

Volcanoes create so much devastation, but, they are the birth of so many awesome things. For example, one theory is that they were the cauldron that cooked up life on Earth.

Also, they inspired the awesome song, “Volcano” by The Presidents of the United States of America.

And who can forget the “Floor is Lava Game”.
